Pensacola: The Cradle of Naval Aviation

Greetings, BRAT Brigade members!

Today, we set our sights on NAS Pensacola, known as the "Cradle of Naval Aviation." Why this nickname, you ask? Pensacola is where naval aviation began in 1914, when the Navy opened its first air station here. Over the years, it has trained thousands of naval aviators who have gone on to become key figures in both war and peace.

Pensacola is also home to the National Naval Aviation Museum, where visitors can explore everything from early seaplanes to modern-day jets. The museum’s exhibits tell the story of courage, innovation, and service that have defined naval aviation for more than a century. It’s more than a base—it’s a living piece of history.

Until next time, keep your eyes on the skies, and your feet firmly on deck!

Fair winds and following seas, BRAT Brigade!
